Prescriptions

Getting your prescription

Here are the simplest methods to order a repeat prescription:

Collecting your Prescription

You can usually collect your prescription 3 to 5 working days after you order it. If you collect from a pharmacy, you must nominate where you would like to collect your prescription.

You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:

  • On the app or website where you order repeat prescriptions
  • At your GP surgery
  • At any pharmacy accepting repeat prescriptions

How to query your medication

The NHS website supplies information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects, and answers to your most frequently asked questions.

If you would like to talk to someone at the GP practice about your prescription then please phone our Dispensary team on 01296 711150 and press option 2 and leave a message, on of our team will get back to you within 24 hours.

Reviews of Medication

If you are on repeat prescription, we want you to attend a review. We’ll be in touch when you need to make this appointment.

What to do with old medicines

If we dispensed it, bring it back in or return it to your local retail pharmacy. Do not put it in your household bin or flush it down the toilet.

Visit Your Pharmacy First!

Nowadays, most pharmacists will be able to help you with seven common conditions without you having to see a GP first: sinusitis, a sore throat, earache, an infected insect bite, impetigo, shingles, or a urinary infection.

They can also suggest medication that you can purchase without a prescription.

Find a pharmacy (nhs.uk)

Most pharmacies are open to late hours and on weekends; you do not need an appointment. They have private rooms for you to discuss anything of concern with the pharmacy staff.
