Oving Road will be closed for 3 Days. ALTERNATIVE ROUTE FOR AFFECTED USERS Marston Road, Winslow Road, Horn Street, Sheep Street, Aylesbury Road, Hurdlesgrove Hill, Buckingham Road, Oving Road and vice versa. Please allow more time to get to your appointment as you will need to go the long way round.

Appointments

Routine Appointments

To schedule a routine appointment in the next 7 days:

  • Please call us on 01296 688949, Monday to Friday from 8.00 am to 6.30 pm
  • Visit the surgery and speak to a receptionist, Monday to Friday from 8.00 am to 6.30 pm
  • Use your NHS account (on the NHS website or NHS App) to book
  • Use our direct booking tool.

We will ask you what you need help with.

The doctors will contact you today before 6:30 pm for a telephone consultation, or one of our care coordinators will call you to arrange a face-to-face appointment.

Your Appointment

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • By telephone
  • In person at the surgery

This is more flexible, and by phone, you can even have an appointment at earlier notice.

Urgent Appointments

To schedule an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday through Friday):

  • Give us a call on 01296 688949, Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 6:30 pm
  • Attend the surgery and speak with the receptionist between 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
  • You can access your NHS account from the NHS website or the NHS App.
  • Use our direct booking tool.

We will ask for information on what area you need help with when you contact us. You will then be placed on our list to be contacted today. This could be from a doctor with a telephone consultation before 6:30 pm or from one of our care coordinators to book you for a face-to-face appointment.

Thursday Evening GP/Advanced Nurse Practitioner/Nurse Telephone Appointments

These are 15-minute pre-bookable appointments between 6.30 pm to 8.00 pm. These can be booked online or by calling 01296 688949.

Saturday GP/Nurse/HCA Appointments

These are pre-bookable face to face appointments at our Whitchurch Surgery between the hours of 8.00 am to 1.00 pm.

Cancel an Appointment

To cancel your appointment:

  • Use your NHS account (either through the NHS website or NHS App)
  • Reply CANCEL to your appointment reminder text message
  • Email your name, date of birth and appointment details to 3whealth.secretaries@nhs.net

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help, use NHS 111 online or ring 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

In an emergency medical or mental health situation, dial 999 immediately. An emergency constitutes a situation in which somebody is severely ill or injured, and their life is at serious risk.

If you need help with your appointment

Please inform us:

  • If you would prefer to speak with the doctor or nurse over the phone, in person, or through text or email
  • If you require an interpreter
  • If there is anything else you need in terms of access or communication

Home visits

If you are housebound and need an appointment, we will do a home visit. We will ring you first to learn what your needs are. Contact the practice as early after 8:00 am as you can to request a home visit.
