Referral appointments

If you have been referred to a specialist through the NHS -Referral Service, you can book, view or cancel your first appointment using the NHS app.

You can manage multiple referrals at any time, as long as they are first appointments.

Booking your first appointment

You can access the NHS e-Referral Service in your NHS App in two ways.

From an email link 

1. Find the email sent from the NHS e-Referral Service
2. Select the link provided in the email. This will launch the NHS App or take you to the NHS website.
3. Log in as usual, then the NHS e-Referral Service will open.
4. From the e-Referral Service page find the referral appointment you would like to book, then select Choose an appointment
5. Find the clinic you would like to attend the appointment at from the options available, then choose Select this appointment
6. Find the appointment date and time that works best for you from the options available, then choose Select appointment
7. Check the details of your appointment, then select Book appointment

From the NHS app or while logged in through the NHS website

1. Go to Appointments
2. Select Referrals and hospital appointments
3. Select Book or cancel your referral appointment
4. Find the referral appointment you would like to book, then select Choose an appointment
5. Find the clinic you would like to attend the appointment at from the options available, then choose Select this appointment
6. Find the appointment date and time that works best for you from the options available, then choose Select appointment
7. Check the details of your appointment, then select Book appointment
