MKUCS – Milton Keynes Urgent Care Services

In August 2009 NHS Milton Keynes commissioned Milton Keynes Urgent Care Services (MKUCS) to provide a dedicated NHS Urgent Care Service in Milton Keynes.

Since then, local GPs and Milton Keynes Hospital have been working together to build a service which will ensure that those who need immediate treatment for conditions that are not urgent enough to require treatment in the A&E department, but cannot wait until the patient can see their own GP.

The aim of the MKUCS is to offer complementing services by GPs or from the Hospital A&E department.

MKUCS offers assessments and treatment of conditions in cases where you think that you have an urgent need to be seen and therefore cannot wait until you can access your own GP. Their service is provided by a Medical Team comprised of healthcare assistants, nurses, nurse prescribers and local GPs and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
