How can I book an appointment?

Before you contact the practice to request an appointment, please think about whether there are any other services that might be more appropriate. A pharmacy can give you advice and treatment for minor conditions that do not need a prescription. The NHS App, NHS Website and NHS 111 system are also available to guide you to appropriate sources of advice.

​We do understand that many people are reluctant to tell a receptionist about the reason they want to see a doctor, however our receptionists are now very much part of our clinical team.  Gathering basic clinical information allows the GP to triage patients, allowing them to prepare and review patient history on a specific issue prior to any appointment.

NB: Same day appointments are for urgent medical problems and not for repeat prescriptions, sick notes or routine referrals.

Booking an appointment

• Using the NHS App
• By telephone between the hours of 8.00 am and 6.30 pm

If you have more than one problem to discuss, please remember to book a separate appointment for each issue.

Cancelling an appointment

If you are unable to make your appointment, please let one of our reception team know as soon as possible so the appointment can be offered to another patient. Last week , 17th – 21st July 2023, 26 patients failed to attend their appointment at either Whitchurch, Wing or Winslow.

Emergencies

If the patient is suffering from any of the following dial 999 immediately:

• Severe chest pains, sweating, clamminess, pain radiating down left arm.
• Unconscious/collapsed.
• Turning blue.
• Head Injury.
• Bleeding profusely.
• Weak and floppy with a rash (especially if child).
